Meet Our Teachers
Our experienced teachers come from a variety of backgrounds, but the one thing they have in common is their passion for sharing the many benefits of yoga with others!

Cathy

I started practicing yoga in earnest during lockdown and I have never looked back. It is my number one passion and I find it a complete practice for mind, body and soul. The breathing and breathwork is very important to me. I became a teacher two years ago and love sharing my passion for yoga with others. Last year, I completed my sound therapy training and have started incorporating that into my yoga classes. My favourite class of the week is Bro-ga! I have loved seeing the men develop their technique and grow in confidence. They have also developed a real camaraderie within the group and are very encouraging to new members.

"In calmness we unlock our true potential" – is a mantra that I've been unknowingly exercising for the better part of my life, and only through the practice of yoga have I come to realise it.
I've spent most of my life being very physically active, from years of competitive cycling to dedicated practice of various martial arts such as Judo, Tiger-Crane Kung Fu, Aikido and more recently Muay Thai boxing.
However, Yoga has provided me with the most complete mental and physical tune-up that I’ve ever experienced, both of which have greatly improved my focus and ability – not just in my other trainings but also just in walking, sitting, even breathing.
The wholeness of body and mind that yoga can promote is quite honestly mind-blowing. After discovering this, and graduating from my teacher training, I felt compelled to share this with anyone

My yoga inspiration began on a rooftop in India 30 years ago, with a yoga teacher who was 83! I went on to a regular yoga practice after my 3 children went to school and my adventure began. Eager to guide others and share this ancient practice, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2022 (Yoga Alliance).
My passion for holistic health and wellbeing has woven through my life for the last 27 years while I was working for the NHS, first as a nurse and then a midwife.
Sharing Yoga is now my focus. I aim to make my classes inclusive, lighthearted, accessible and fun! We explore poses to increase strength, flexibility and balance. Clients find they improve their mobility, and experience less stiffness and backache! Using various breath work techniques in class we also calm the nervous system, reduce stress, improve sleep and develop a general sense of wellbeing. I do hope to see you on the mat soon!

Explore your body's potential and take time to connect body and mind. I'd often considered training as a yoga teacher but always found reasons not to, until friends pointed out that it’s never too late and motivated me to do it, and I am so grateful they did!
For me, yoga has always been not just a full body workout, but also a chance to take time for myself and find an inner calm. As my children grew, I had more time to devote to my practice and became stronger and more focused both on and off the mat.
I feel lucky to be able to share what yoga has given me to help others to explore their potential and to take time to connect with their bodies and minds, as well as having fun!

Chiddingfold
I've been practicing yoga for over 20 years, with a deep focus on Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow. I’ve been inspired by some amazing teachers over this time and decided to deepen my own understanding by taking my Yoga Teacher Training journey. My passion lies in sharing the many benefits that yoga brings to everyday life—from increased strength and flexibility to greater mental clarity and calmness. Yoga has helped me feel more refreshed and better equipped to handle life’s daily challenges, and I love creating a friendly, welcoming space for like-minded yogis to experience the same.
Yoga is a lifelong journey, and with regular dedication and commitment, the benefits soon reveal themselves—physically, mentally, and emotionally. In my classes, I encourage students to let go of perfection; there’s no such thing as the perfect yogi. Whether you're stepping onto the mat for the first time or deepening an existing connection, I invite you to take that step on your own unique yoga path.

I seek to help people feel good on all levels through the power of yoga and self transformations.
I offer a non-dogmatic, physical practice aimed at creating more inner body awareness, using the power of your own breath. I also focus on strength and mobility, as well as dipping into Pilates and animal flow for the benefits a strong core has, in everyday life. The practice I offer, encompasses both traditional static Hatha postures and more modern creative flows, targeting all planes of movements.
My enthusiasm comes from a deep desire to share the benefits the regular practice of yoga offers both physically and mentally, without taking it too seriously but with the willingness to step out of the comfort zone.

Grab a mat, leave your shoes and busy thoughts at the door and come join me!
Fitness has always played an important part in my life but there's one form of exercise that I would choose over any other - Yoga.
I realised I wanted to share the way yoga makes me feel with others, so I worked to get my 200 hr YTT qualification.
I believe that this ancient, beautiful form of exercise can be practiced by anyone and its health benefits are huge. It tones muscles, builds strength and improves flexibility, but it's not just about the body.
Yoga brings focus because you work with the breath in every pose which induces the relaxation response, reduces anxiety and calms the nervous system. It's a wonderful connection between body, mind and breath.
So, grab a mat, leave your shoes and busy thoughts at the door and come join me!

Alton
Fiona is a 200 hour International Yoga Alliance certified instructor. Leading classes through a gentle Vinyasa flow, focusing on improving flexibility and using the breath to empower the body, increase positivity and bring a heightened sense of calm to students that can be maintained off the mat.
Fiona has been practicing yoga on and off for the past 20 years, using yoga to complement a hectic life with a toddler. She was first drawn to yoga as a method of avoiding injury and maintaining flexibility but the ethos and mental health benefits that can be used off the mat, to manage in today’s whirlwind of life are what has kept Fiona returning to classes. It was the sudden change to life and significantly increased amount of spare time in 2020/21 that finally gave Fiona the push to jump into the yoga teacher training and she has never looked back!
Away from the yoga mat Fiona can be found enjoying the great outdoors, walking, running and swimming and even occasionally stand up paddle boarding, as well as enjoying time with family and friends, listening to music and trying out scrumptious foods.

Teaching since 2009, teacher training from 2015, and leading anatomy teacher training since 2017, my classes have evolved from teaching classic Hatha and Vinyasa to become a fusion of these practices blended with Western science. With a particular interest in functional movement based on clinical and scientific research, my classes are a combination of joint strength training and yoga. My influences include training with orthopaedic surgeon Ray Long (founder of Bandha Yoga), Functional Range Conditioning (qualified FRCms and Kinstretch), biomechanics and rehab-based Integrated Kinetic Neurology.
In my classes you can anticipate a combination of challenging mobility work (joint strength), yet accessible movement and familiar yoga postures for all levels of practitioner. You’ll learn how to strengthen and increase your ranges of motion throughout your whole body.
Enjoy learning the non-binary nature of strength and flexibility in my classes whilst having fun!

My name is Peter Williams and I am passionate about the practice of yoga and all the huge range of benefits it brings to mind, body and spirit alike. Plus it is great fun!
My yoga journey began around 18 years ago when my wife “made” me try a class. I was convinced it wasn’t for me and didn’t think I would fit in. How wrong was I?!
I was immediately hooked and found the stretching and mobility work a huge complement to any other form of training or fitness activity.
I have been teaching since 2024, I’m really proud to be a member of the Bro-Ga team and look forward to seeing you on a mat soon!

I aim to make my yoga classes accessible, inclusive and inspirational for everyone.
My yoga journey started over 15 years ago when I regularly started to attend all types of yoga classes. Yoga helped me to control my ongoing lower back pain and enabled me to manage my stress and anxiety. Yoga, breath work, mindfulness and meditation have all
made a significant difference to my overall physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and is an important part of my daily life. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teaching Training in 2019 and my 300 hour Advanced Teacher Training in 2022. I am passionate about anything related to yoga and sharing the joyous benefits of yoga with others in a safe, friendly and relaxing environment.

Yoga is my compass. It helps me stay on course.
I love sharing yoga (on and off the mat). I am inspired and fuelled by watching people trying their best to do something good for themselves…and coffee!
After only dabbling in yoga in my early 20s, I dove fully into yoga after having my children and fell in love with the physical challenge. I took a teacher training to learn more about the practice and that is the moment it all started to shift. I have since completed additional training and enjoy learning new practices and techniques of teaching. I absolutely love finding local yoga studios while on holiday to practice and find inspiration.
When I wake up in the morning I always make a strong cup of coffee and take in the forest views outside my window, and aim to spend the day doing everything with love.

The typical yoga stereotypes would have you believe that to practice yoga you must be vegan, a hippie, super serious and a bit woo-woo. In fact, none of these myths contribute anything to yoga, additionally when you let me guide you in a yoga class, you will quickly realise that there is no such thing as being “good” or “bad” at yoga. We’re all just showing up on our mat to practice something that can make us stronger, more flexible, more accepting, more relaxed and, along the way, we tend to become better than we used to be.
Having practised yoga for nearly 10 years I have experienced all sorts of benefits which led me to training as a teacher (though I prefer term ‘guide’) at Akram Yoga Studio, completing a 200-hour course and qualifying as a Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance).
My passion to pass on some of my experience in a safe, relaxed, and friendly environment in central to my classes, because I firmly believe that yoga is for every-body!

With Yoga we aim to unite our body, breath, mind, spirit and heart. We can become more supple and comfortable by applying the right mindset to our body’s movements, with stretching and gentle postures, all whilst allowing for self-compassion.
Having been told by a health spa masseur over 20 years ago that my exercise regime at that time of aerobics, step & aquafit classes was ‘far too stressful’ for my personality and that I should explore Yoga, I did just that and have been practicing it ever since. In 2020 following 200 hours of training over a twelve-month period, I qualified as a Yoga instructor with the Yoga Alliance, specialising in Seasonal Yoga, and I have since followed up with continuous professional development to achieve 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training in total.
As well as regular Yoga, I teach Chair Yoga at local care homes highlighting the importance of gentle movement and mindful engagement regardless of age or level of ability, proving that Yoga can be for everyone.
